About Sonia Talati

I've always loved a good story.
Chances are that if you’re reading this, you probably love a good story, too.
Story I began my career as a video journalist, carrying around a 35-pound camera and filming every story that came my way in small towns across America.
Once I nailed that, I decided to broaden my storytelling skill set to include writing.
I had a background in economics, so I focused on business journalism at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
I WAS HUNGRY TO TELL DRY STORIES IN A HUMAN WAY.
I learned that at the center of every business story is a slew of successes and challenges. It’s about people working with people to create new solutions. That fascinated me and I wanted to write about it.
Did I Succeed?
Well, yes. I wrote for The Wall Street Journal and then went on to have my own column at its sister publication, Barron’s.
My column, called Penta, advised those with $5 million or more in net worth on investments and lifestyle.
While I was writing this column, I was living in New York City and looking out at the Top of the Rock.
It felt like I living the dream!
I thought I was doing all I could with my stories, but
I noticed there was a gap between my reader’s succession, estate, and wealth transfer plans and their actual success.
